Cardiothoracic ICU Nurse Manager
This 12-bed Cardiothoracic ICU
cares for cardiac surgery patients, including heart transplants as
well as general and surgical patients. The staff of provide care for
critically ill patients requiring multiple technologies or advanced
life support including: Hemodynamic Monitoring, Continuous Veno-Venous
Hemofiltration (CVVH), Intra Aortic Balloon pump (IABP), Ventricular
Assist Devices (VAD), Temporary Pacing, Nitric Oxide (NO), and
Multiple Drug Therapies. This
CVICU is unique such that the provision of daily care to patients
including performing invasive procedures and laboratory tests is
under the supervision of the attending intensivist and in
communication with the Cardiothoracic Surgeon and Attending
cardiologist.
Position
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
required, Master's degree preferred. One degree must be Nursing.
Current CT RN License
required. CPR
certification required. Minimum of 3 years relevant clinical
experience, and strong written and verbal communication skills
required.
Demonstrated progressive leadership skills and previous/current
cardiothoracic surgical experience preferred.
Position Summary: This position has comprehensive accountability for managing human, material and financial resources to ensure quality, cost effective delivery of patient services for the critically ill post operative open heart in-patient population. Reports to and supports Director of Service by functioning within the framework of professional nursing practice. Patient population includes use of : CVVH, IABP, VAD.

BSN is required, matriculation in Master’s program strongly
preferred. Current CT RN
license and CPR certification required.
A minimum of 3 years relevant clinical experience, along with
demonstrated progressive leadership skills is preferred.
Previous/current cardiology or cardiothoracic surgical
experience is preferred.
